"If your library utilizes SMS/Text Notifications in MessageBee, you may notice, a"SMS Messages" tab on the left hand menu of MessageBee.
Clicking on this tab opens a screen that allows you to respond to messages received on your organizations designated SMS Number (such as sent circulation notices), or to message a patrons number directly.
NOTE: All SMS Records are deleted after 90 days for privacy reasons.
Responding to a Patrons SMS Message
If a patron has responded to a notice, you will see a an interaction with the patrons name, the time and date, and a brief snippet of their response message.
NOTE: When there is an un-read SMS message, the notification icon (envelope in top right) will show an alert .
Clicking on the desired SMS interaction will load a chat window on the right hand side of the screen.
In order to respond to a message, all you need to do is then type your desired message into text box on the right hand side of the screen and then hit send.
Sending Direct SMS Messages
If you wish to directly communicate with a patron via a mobile number who hasn't responded to a MessageBee SMS Notice, you can also select the "Start a new conversation" drop down menu, enter the desired phone number, and then hit the create button.
MessageBee will now begin a new SMS interaction on the right hand side of the screen. In order to send a message, all you need to do is then type your desired message into text box and then hit send.
